Alzheimer's Quilt Day
NEW!: On October 30th, Darlene Martin will be conducting a charity event in honor of Alzheimer's patients - "Alzheimer's Quilt Day".
We will be making "Touch Quilts" for a nursing home. Touch Quilts are made from various textures: corduroy, fleece, fake fur, terrycloth, sateen, seersucker, brocade, velvets, and flannel fabrics that appeal to the sense of touch for Alzheimer's patients. We are asking you all to save pieces of the various textures for donation to this event. All fabrics need to be prewashed. The quilts are usually 50" square and backed with flannel (no batting required) and tied.
If you or anyone you know would like to donate and help with this event, please call us at 740-373-6150. Refreshments will be provided. Please advertise this very worthy cause and try to get any donations possible. Come sew with us for fun and for a worthy cause.
Embroidery anyone?
We are nearing the end of Latte and The Color Purple quilts now. In a couple of months we will be finished with Ambience.
The embroidered Xmas Tree skirt is ongoing. We have several new projects planned for you - projects to challenge our now "advanced" students and several for our beginning embroidery enthusiasts.
New Embroidery Designs are in to get ready for Xmas - Anita Goodesign comes out with Christmas Elegance 2 and Jolly Holiday 3...beautiful!!! Also, new Christmas Fabrics and other beautiful fabrics from Kaufman, Northcott and others.
We now have the 42 new colors of Isacord from OESD. We also have 12 cool variegated Isacord thread available.
Bernina Credit Card
We are now accepting the Bernina Credit Card. If you don't have one, now is the time to come in and apply for yours. Now you will be able to get that machine or BSR or other accessories that you have always wanted.
Classes
NEW!: Beginning in October, Thimbleberries Club will be moved to the second Saturday of the month. We are planning for next year's Club projects so, please call us to sign up for the Club. It is a great time for friends to get together to sew and have fun. Get your friends to participate and join us now!
NEW!: Miriam Brake will be offering a series of Techniques Classes. Look out for all the announcements. Starting in October, we will be doing the Tote Bags - this can't be missed - they are Oh, so cute!

NEW!: Midge Miller will be offering another Mariner's Compass class on October 29th. Mariners' Compass blocks are fabulous because they're challenging and extremely satifying when completed. Midge Miller makes this foundation piecing block seem very easy.
